Everything you need before joining us in Kumasi.

BEFORE YOU TRAVEL
A short list before you pack.
We encourage all guests to review the latest entry requirements with their local Ghanaian embassy or consulate prior to travel, as requirements may change.
Passport
All international travelers must have a valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining beyond their travel dates.
Visa
Many travelers, including U.S. citizens, are required to obtain a visa before travelling to Ghana. We recommend beginning the visa application process several months before departure.
Vaccinations
A Yellow Fever vaccination is currently required for entry into Ghana, and travelers should carry their vaccination card when traveling.

GETTING TO KUMASI
Two ways into the city.
Most international guests will first arrive in Accra (ACC) before joining us in Kumasi.
Domestic Flight — Recommended
The easiest and fastest option is a short domestic flight from Accra to Prempah I International Airport (Kumasi International Airport). Several daily flights operate between the two cities, with a flight time of approximately 40–60 minutes.
Ground Transportation — Private Driver
Guests may also travel by car from Accra to Kumasi. The drive typically takes 5–6 hours depending on traffic and road conditions.

KUMASI AIRPORT INFORMATION
Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi
Located approximately 20–30 minutes from most hotels and wedding events.

WHERE TO STAY
Make yourself at home.
To make your stay as comfortable as possible, we recommend booking accommodations in Airport Residential, Nhyiaeso, Danyame, or Ridge. These neighborhoods offer convenient access to wedding events and many of Kumasi's most popular hotels.

TRANSPORTATION
Easy ways to move around.
Uber and Bolt are available throughout Kumasi and are the easiest way to get around during your stay.

HELPFUL INFORMATION
A few things to keep in mind.
CURRENCY
The local currency is the Ghanaian Cedi (GHS). We recommend carrying some of the local currency during your stay, particularly when visiting markets, local shops, and neighborhood favorites.
WEATHER
January is one of the most pleasant times to visit Ghana, with warm temperatures, sunshine, and relatively little rainfall.
LANGUAGE
English is the official language and is widely spoken throughout Ghana. You may also hear Twi, particularly in Kumasi.
ELECTRICITY
Ghana uses 230V electrical outlets with Type G plugs. Guests traveling from the U.S. will likely need a power adapter.
